Rejuvenation, restoration and renewed energy – all sounds pretty good right?
In keeping with tradition, Pantone have released the top ten colors for spring 2017, to coincide with various fashion weeks around the world.
Pantone unveiled the zesty yellowy-green shade (#15-0343) in the hopes to refresh, reinvent, and reinvigorate the spirit as we ring in the new year. It's the color of nature, which means by surrounding yourself with it, you'll feel one with nature—perfect for those who aren't really the outdoorsy type.
“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,” says Leatrice Wiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”
Their predictions are usually pretty accurate — a keen eye can spot their list dotted throughout the spring/summer ’17 runways in a second — and last year they even hinted at what would be the color of the year through their spring predictions.
This year, the list is decidedly subdued, featuring plenty of muted, earthy tones, including Kale and Hazelnut, with pops of primary colors like Lapis Blue and Primrose Yellow.
Following this yearly announcement everything from fashion trends to interior design is influenced by Pantone’s predictions: case in point, one of their colors of the year for 2016, Rose Quartz, has been seen everywhere from furniture to shoes and buildings.
I can also direct you to one of my favorite plus size bloggers: The Curvy Fashionista, she did an amazing job and picked pieces that will blow your mind and style:
Green represents hope, freshness, cleanse, and so much more. I wanted to also showcase a few pictures (powered by T's Closet SXM), where these colors are wonderfully showcased.
As usual , I played around with a few colors, just to give it my own personal twist (we all know how much I love colors).
This first look can easily be a corporate look. The green pattern on the dress is bold, but not loud. I am currently wearing this in a size 16. The nude crocodile print bag and its detailing makes it an outfit that you will wear in the HOPES but showing confidence that you are ready for that promotion!
The Shoes, a lighter nude, to create a contrast with the bag. They are Nine West, we all know that there is nothing more comfortable than a pair of Nine West pumps!

This is a Party look that I love! I kept it clean, simply by adding a leather / gold choker, a cork clutch and my favorite part: THE SHOES!
Full Outfit, powered by T's Closet!
This look screams cocktail, dinner! It is a dark mint green, shoes are snake skin and I popped it with a dark Magenta clutch. Long earrings that will compliment my simple hairstyle.
