We shop & we wear what we WANT!

Let us start with some stats: Plus-size women represent 68% of shoppers, and yet we’re often only a small percentage of the people who actually work in the fashion industry. he majority of decision makers are still straight-size. But change is on the horizon: “Inclusivity is the future in fashion. You can either get on board or fade into irrelevance.”

As a plus size I was often praised for having the courage and audacity to wear what I wanted. To translate fashion into a way that would embrace my body type and my self-confidence. So many retailers want to dip their toe into plus, but they only offer certain styles they deem ‘plus-appropriate.’ I’d hear things like, ‘A plus woman wouldn’t want something like this.’ No! What plus women really want is to not be limited in choice. Many companies still don’t realize our spending power.”

I have never been intimidated by the lack of options that service the plus size body type, I usually create those opportunities as I hate to feel limited. Having that type of courage, means that you are bold and daring and that you will do things different and that you are not afraid to stand out.
