Recap Quarter ONE!! (We Are Just Getting Started)

Can you believe that we are 4 months into 2021? A year that has been labeled as the “unknown” following a year of the pandemic. We have established in many occasions that this is not your regular year and that this is not business as usual. I hope that you were able to meet some of your goals and objectives for the first part of this year.

As for me, I hit the ground running. The last 3 months surpassed my expectations. The opportunities, and the continued growth in content creation and networking has been astronomical. I remember a time where I would ask myself, where am I going to produce content from?? Now I can healthily and humbly boast of consistent content that is lined up on a daily basis for me to share with YOU, the audience.

That did not just happen overnight, I evaluated and re-structured what I was putting out there and realized that I needed to change a few things and strategies if I wanted to continue being not just a Plus Size Blogger in the Caribbean, but a Blogger with substance. I had the opportunity to host events alongside one of my favorite Power Houses: Ife Badejo, together we shared our platform and entrepreneur journey with women in business or women that are thinking of starting a business and just do not know how to. In addition to this, I was a featured speaker in the “Spring Summit for Women of Business and Diversity”, a moment where I met some amazing women and got the opportunity to share my journey with them as well.

Let’s not forget that like in true Kenty’s Style, we celebrated Women the entire month of March and continued to be grateful for every win (small or big, they all count). I was blessed to celebrate this month with great women. Within that same period, I was given the opportunity to present myself as a Radio Hostess of “Fashion & Beyond”. I tested the radio waves via PJD2, 102.7 FM (The Voice Of St.Maarten) and I can tell you that being on that other side of the microphone gave me an entirely different view and perspective on the radio. I have enjoyed being mentored by one of St. Maarten’s very first Lady of Radio, Ms. Grace Blijden and we are continuously working on bringing you a dynamic show every Saturday.

Looking back at all the things that I was able to accomplish, is just a confirmation that everything happens when it supposed to, but you must be prepared. Some projects will take more time than others but if you consistently dedicate the time to nurture and see them grow, you will reap the fruits of that labor.

We also welcomed some new brands that we are super excited to work with like “Mobil” and La Marca. Two very different brands, with different audiences and objectives. I love the fact that Mobil Lubricants has taken the initiative to educate the women in our community about the importance of auto care. What goes into your car and the products that guarantee and can prove the best performance for your car engine? Stay tuned and Mobil Lubricants (exclusively distributed by Sol Petroleum St.Maarten ) will share this and many more of these tips with you.

La Marca focuses on the women of today, with their dreams and their struggles (mom, entrepreneur, career oriented etc.) but that is looking to celebrate every moment with a good Prosecco, while creating great memories and having lots of sparkles in their lives.

This is an important message and closes to my heart for obvious reasons. As women, we often wait for the big moments to celebrate, the right occasions, with all the fanfare. The one thing that this pandemic has taught me is to celebrate every opportunity, every small win, every goal or objective and to stop waiting for the “right” time.

Just in case you were wondering about this last look; this was the finale to my “Headwraps Series”, in actuality this only means that I had no idea nor discipline to do anything with my hair and therefore I turned to my good friend: the fabric! To get this look you will 2 yards, well any wrap for me is always 2 yards because you need the extra fabric so that you can shape it to the look you want.

This look I specifically chose a gold metallic tone lycra fabric so that I could get that festive look and still look elegant of course, I mean you guys know that I can rock a head wrap ANYWHERE right?? I paired it with black and a red midi tutu skirt that I discovered it had pockets THAT night (do not judge me).
